Product benefits

  1. Very fast heat gain from solar input – it take approximately 8 seconds to achieve useable heat at the condenser exit, due to the ‘hybrid’ design of a flat pipe acting as a heat pipe. This gives the potential of higher annual gains compared to other flat plate collectors.
  2. Relatively high efficiency at solar input – at the top end of flat plate technologies, giving 544kwhr/year at steady state (Keymark test)
  3. Unique design of a 1M2 flat heatpipe.
  4. The heatpipe is manufactured from 0.25mm stainless steel, resulting in an exceptionally rugged heatpipe/collector, with a long operation life.
  5. The 1M2 ‘appearance’ blends with existing roof windows and many bespoke roof designs. Ideal for retro fit applications.
  6. The collector is light at only 23kg and therefore is more easily installed.
  7. At only 52mm thick, the heatwave collector can be surface mounted or ‘flashed’ into roofs.
  8. The one piece, pressed metal enclosure eliminates water ingress/leakage.
  9. Capable of operating between 25 and 90 degrees (almost flat to vertical fascia)
  10. The surface coating gives 96% absorption and 6% emissivity.
  11. Heatwave has achieved Keymark certification, dated 4th June 2010 – registration No 011-7S1251F.
  12. Can operate at high temperatures for process plant applications.
  13. Argon filled for higher efficiency and moisture elimination.
  14. Developed with the aid of an EU R&D funded project with European partners.
  15. The production version was developed and in now manufactured by a long established UK based tier 1 automotive component manufacturer using automation for accuracy, reliability and quality. The company has a long association as a major supplier to Jaguar Land Rover, Scania, Toyota, Honda and Ford.
